Postnatal period and final checkup
Postnatal period
After your delivery we will visit you a week long at home to check the health of you and your baby. We will visit you in principle on Monday, Wednesday and Friday unless there are reasons to do it differently.
If any problems occur after the childbirth, the "kraamverzorgster" (the nurse specificly trained to help in this situation to give "kraamzorg" / maternity help) will contact us. The kraamverzorgster is the person who will check up on you and your baby for eight days after your delivery. Not only will she do the medical checkups, but she also will teach you the basics of babycare and breastfeeding. We will have the final responsilibity in this period.
The final checkup
This is your final checkup, six weeks after the birth of your child. We will check you and you and your baby, and discuss your pregancy, delivery and the postnatal period. For making an appointment, calling our assistent Bernardien four weeks after delivery is recommended.
